Цель урока:

• расширение кругозора учащихся, развитие интереса к изучению иностранного языка посредством занимательных форм обучения.

Задачи урока:

1.Развивающая:

• совершенствование воображения, логического мышления, внимания, памяти у учащихся;
• развитие познавательного интереса и коммуникативной деятельности у учащихся.

2. Воспитательная:

• воспитание интереса к культуре стран изучаемого языка у учащихся;
• формирование положительной мотивации учения, готовности воспринимать культуру другого народа;
• формирование чувства ответственности, коллективизма, сотворчества, самореализации.

3. Образовательная:

• знакомство учащихся с традициями и праздниками стран изучаемого языка;
• расширение с помощью английского языка представления обучающихся об окружающем их мире, как средстве взаимодействия с этим миром.

Оснащение урока: компьютер,раздаточный материал, песня “LastChristmas” и “JingleBells”.

Ход урока:

1.Приветствие и организационный момент:

Teacher: Good morning, people! I’m very glad to see all of you here! How are you today? (учащиесяотвечают)   I’m in a high spirit, too!

Now I want you to listen to one song and say what we’ll speak about today. (включаю песню “Last Christmas”)

So, what will we speak about today? (учащиеся: We’ll speak about Christmas)

You are quite right! I believe that all of you know a lot about this wonderful holiday, but nevertheless I’m sure that today you’ll learn a lot new information about Christmas at our lesson.

Let’sstart.

1) Работа с текстом

Teacher: You know that the British prepare for Christmas very carefully. So, you’re to read the text about British Christmas traditions and be ready to answer the questions. I give 7 min.to read the text. (раздаюраспечаткистекстом)

The next task is the following. Say which of these sentences are true and which are false. If the sentence is false, correct it. You have 5-6 min.to fulfill this task. (раздаю распечатки)

1)      Be­fore Christmas all the department stores and shops are crowded, everybody is choosing a present.

2)      Presents are put near the fireplace .

3)      The French are believed to be the first to use the Christmas tree in their celebrations

4)      In Great Britain, the Christmas tree became popular while Queen Victoria ruled the country.

5)      On a Christmas day children hang their stockings, so that Santa Claus could put presents into them.

7)      Carols were used for the first time during Christmas in the fifteenth century.

8)       A typical Christmas lunch includes turkey with cranberry sauce and pudding.

9)       Usually a ring or two are hidden inside the pudding and part of the fun is to see who finds it.

10)    So, Christmas is a merry family holiday for all the people of Great Britain.

Teacher: Now I suggest playing “Why game”. First, I want you to divide into 3 groups. You’ll get cards with questions and with answers. There’re 9 questions. Each question begins with the word “why”. Your task is to find the correct answer to each question. The group, which will find as many correct answers as possible, will get the prize. You have 10-15 minutes.

Teacher: The next task will be the following. Listen to one of famous Christmas songs, fill in the missing words and try to remember the title of this song. (раздаюраспечатки)
