Theme: Phrasal verb with “look”
The educational aim: to introduce with new theme, to review all the phrasal verbs and word expressions, to do exercises according to the theme,to solve different kind of cards.

Фразовый глагол lookКак нам известно, основным значением глагола to look являются следующие понятия: видеть, смотреть. Но в сочетании с ниже перечисленными предлогами, фразовый глагол look может переводить иным образом.
1.Look about / around – оглядываться, осматриваться, обводить глазами что-либо (например, помещение)Do we have to pay to look around this castle? – Нам нужно заплатить за то, что мы осмотрим этот замок?
2.Look after – следить глазами за; присматривать, ухаживать, следить, заботиться о ком-либо (о чем-либо)She was looking after the train as it was leaving the station. – Она провожала глазами отходящий поезд.This garden seems to have been looked after. – Кажется, что за этим садом присматривают.
3.Look ahead – смотреть вперед (в будущее); предвидеть, предусматриватьLooking ahead to the future, we can imagine the time when all cars will fly. – Заглядывая в будущее, мы можем представить, что наступит время, когда машины будут летать.
4.Look at – смотреть на кого-либо (что-либо), взглянуть, проверить (В этом случае значение фразового глагола look совпадает с основным значением слова). Еще одно значение – вдуматься, обратить внимание.He won’t even look at milk. – Он и смотреть не хочет на молоко.I must get my car looked at. – Надо, чтобы мою машину посмотрели.She wouldn’t look at the proposal. – Она и думать не хотела об этом предложении.
5.Look back – оглянуться (в прямом смысле и в переносном — в прошлое), вспомнитьNever look back, you can’t change the past. – Не оглядывайся в прошлое, ты не можешь его изменить.
6.Look down (on) – потупить взор, смотреть с презрением, смотреть свысока; падать, снижаться (о цене)
