The theme: How to Read Numerals and Dates.
The Aim: формирование грамматических навыков учащихся
Tasks: 1. совершенствовать навык чтения и говорения
2. развивать грамматические навыки учащихся
3. познакомить детей с новым грамматическим правилом, с названиями столиц англоговорящих стран
4. воспитать положительное отношение ко мнению других, аргументируя свою точку зрения
The equipment: УМК, ТСО, плакат с числительными, рисунки столиц, карточки с числительными и датами.
Ход урока I Introduction
Good afternoon, children. Sit down, please. Quiet, please! I’m waiting for you! I think we can start. 2 minutes
II Warming – up
Who’s on duty today?, Lena how many people are absent? What is the date today? What is the weather like today, Lena? Ira, can you describe yourself in five words? Sasha, let’s count from 1 till 10. Thank you. Polina, count from 10 till 20. Well done. And now who can say in English – 35, 46, 75, 82, 93, 27? Very good. That’s all right. 5 minutes
III Phonetic activities
And now let’s practice your sounds. Look at the blackboard. There are two sounds: [Ө] and [h]

Today we learn new grammar rule. We’ll study how to read numerals and dates. Look at the board, please. You can see a placard with numerals. Let’s listen to me and repeat after me all together. And now listen to these numerals once more on the tape.

VI Work with the exercise in the book
Well, you seem to have understood this rule. And now let’s make up some exercises. Open your books on p. 16 and find out ex. 37.
We shall say the following numerals: 156, 234, 375, 408, 591, 639, 702, 871, 948; 1,000; 1,723; 1,093; 2,568; 3,000; 5,000,000.
Well, that’s all right. I see that this rule is not very difficult for you. 15 minutes
VII Work with the board
And now everybody look at the blackboard, please. There are two columns. The first include the numerals and the second – their transcriptions. Your task is to match them.....

Boys and girls now I want you to look at this side of the board. As you can see there are names of the capitals in the English speaking countries. (London, Washington, Ottawa, Wellington, Sydney and Moscow). Listen to me attentively. And now repeat after me all together. Well done. Masha, read all these capitals, please. Thank you. Look on p. 16 in your books, ex. 39. You should read the texts about these capitals. Each text contains the numerals. Be attentive when you’ll read them. Ira, read the first text, please. Well done. You have only one mistake in your reading. Thank you. The next text about Washington. Who wants to read. 25 minutes

Well, we have a couple of minutes left. We’ll finish for today. Let’s say what have you learnt from this lesson. Thank you. Your homework is to learn the rule, and do ex. 23, p. 30 in writing.
