The theme of the lesson: My summer holidays

The aims of the lesson: a) educational: to speak about pupils’ activities on holidays
to consolidate lexical stock, to teach to express own

opinions, to enrich pupils vocabulary, to consolidate the

Past tense

b)developing: to develop the pupils’ habits of reading,

writing, speaking and listening.

c) bringing – up: to bring up them to respect the opinions of

their classmates about summer holidays.

The type of the lesson: presentation of a new lesson

The methods of working: warm – up, group work, question-answer

Inter subject connection: Kazakh, Russian.

The visual aids: an interactive board, thematically pictures, slides, Grammar tables.

Objectives: at the end of the lesson the pupils will be able to:

talk about summer holidays .

use thematically vocabulary in oral speech.

develop their speaking and listening skills.

evaluate their own participation at the lesson.

use the Past Simple tense in their speech.

The outline of the lesson:

I. Organization moment .Teacher greets pupils, checks the absentees, introduces them with the theme of the lesson and the tasks they will do during the lesson.

-Good afternoon, boys and girls!

-Good afternoon, teacher!

-I’m glad to see you again! You may take your seats.

-Who is on duty? Who is absent today?

-I’m on duty today. All are present.

-Very good. Today we shall enlarge our vocabularies, try to speak about holidays ,to revise the Past tense

II. Warm up

Let’s begin our lesson with the warm up. Look at the blackboard, there is a poem on it.

Let’s read it.

Holidays are over,

No more fun.

Holidays are over,

School has begun.

III. Checking up the home-task: a) Ex 10 p 30 Put the sentences in the correct order

b) Ex 11 p 30 Pick up the Past tense forms of the verbs

IV. Presentation of the lesson

T:Look at the board now. Read the words and think what are we going to speak about?

to spent holidays, to miss parents, to go abroad, to do shopping, summer

P: To my mind , it’s about summer holidays.

T: Right you are.

a)Question-answer ( teacher gives pupils questions)

Where did you spend your holiday?

What did you do?

Who did you spend your holiday with?

b) Vocabulary work

to swim,

to go fishing

to play football

to take photos

to work in the garden

to go cycling

c) Work with the text: Dauren’s and Nina’s holiday.

Dauren spent two weeks in Turkey with his parents. Nina went to Russia for three weeks with her mother. Dauren and his parents flew to Istanbul and then drove to Marmaris. Nina and her mother flew to Moscow and then they took the train to the town.

Dauren stayed in a hotel near the beach. Nina stayed with her grandparents.

When Dauren came back to Almaty, he stayed at home for the rest of the holiday. Nina spent two weeks with her aunt in St.Petersburg.
