The type: competition.
The aims: 1. To develop the pupil’s pronunciation in English 2. To develop their thinking and speaking. 3. To check their knowledge.
The aids: interactive board, papers, pens, numbers.
Dear teachers and spectators! Welcome to our competition that calls “The leader of the XXI century”. Let me introduce to you our players.
Our competition consists of 4 stages.
The first stage is “Baiga”
The second stage is “Polyglot”
The third stage is “What do you know about these countries?”
The fourth stage is “Zhorga”
And we have dear jury that will mark our players. Let me introduce them to you. Sultanova Rysgul – the teacher of English language
Komasheva Zhaukhazyn – the header of the school. Burkitbaieva Nurly – the teacher of Russian language. Dear pupils it’s time to check your knowledge. Dear pupils are very active in our competition. Please don’t shout from your place. Be polite and if who knows the answer, raise your hands, please. Players, are you ready for this competition? Then let’s begin.
Our first stage is “Baiga”. In this stage you must answer my questions. At every correct answer you will get 10 points.
1. What is the capital of England? (London)
2. Who is the head of Kazakhstan? (President N.Nazarbayev)
3. How many months in a year? (Twelve)
4. What is the official language of the United Kingdom? (England)
5. What is the capital of Kazakhstan? (Astana)
6. Who wrote the novel “Abai zholy”? (M.Auezov)
7. How many letters are in English alphabet? (twenty six)
8. The last letter of the English alphabet. (Z)
9. Who is the President of the USA? (Barack Obama)
10. What colors are on Kazakhstan Flag? (blue and yellow)
11. How many days in a week? (seven)
12. Kazakhstan became independent in….(1991).
The first task is over. Two of competitors who pick up least of all points that leaves our competition. The second stage, which calls “Polyglot” I will say you some Kazakh proverbs, you must find the missed words and translate into Russian and English languages. 1. Білімнің жол басшысы, шәкірттің қолбасшысы. (Мұғалім – учитель – teacher) 2. Тілі жоқ өзінде, сөзі бар ізінде (қаламсап – ручка - pen) 3. Күміс алмұрт тілі бар, сыңғырлаған үні бар. Шақыратын білімге, сағаты бар, күні бар (Қоңырау – звонок – bell) 4. Жұқа тақтай бөлшегі, ұзындықтың өлшемі (сызғыш – линейка – ruler) 5. Үстіндегі есігі, өзі орындық, әрі үстел, оқушылар бесігі. (Парта – парта – desk) 6. Білімнен мол сый-асы, балғындардың ұясы. (Мектеп – школа – school). So the second stage is over. One competitor who picks up least of all points that leaves our competition. Now let’s begin our third stage which called “What do you know about these countries?” On display you see some questions about 3 countries: Kazakhstan, England and USA. That participant who has fewer points chooses the questions. About Kazakhstan:
