Задачи урока:

 

Речевая компетенция:

 

ØРазвитие коммуникативных умений в основных видах речевой деятельности.

Ø Говорение: сообщать краткие сведения о стране изучаемого языка.

Ø Аудирование: воспринимать на слух и понимать речь учителя и   одноклассников.

Ø Чтение: читать аутентичные тексты с пониманием основного содержания.

Ø Письмо: употребление формул речевого этикета, принятых в стране изучаемого языка.

 

Языковая компетенция:

 

ØПрименение правил написания слов.

ØРаспознавание и употребление в речи основных значений изученных лексических единиц (слов, словосочетаний, реплик-клише речевого этикета).

Социокультурная компетенция:

 

ØПредставление об особенностях образа жизни, быта, культуры страны изучаемого языка (всемирно известных достопримечательностях).

ØПонимание роли владения иностранными языками в современном мире.

 

Учебно-познавательная компетенция:

 

ØУмение действовать по образцу при выполнении упражнений и составлении собственных высказываний.

ØГотовность и умение осуществлять индивидуальную и совместную проектную работу.

Воспитательная компетенция:

ØПриобщение к ценностям мировой культуры на иностранном языке.

УМК, аудиозапись, видеоприложение, интерактивная доска, дидактический раздаточный материал, карта Австралии.

 

 

Ход урока:

 

1. Warm-up

T       - Hello, children! Nice to see you in the class.

P       - Hello. Nice to see you too.

T       - Take your seats, please. How are you? How are you feeling today? A little nervous?

P       - Oh, no. We are fine, thank you. And you?

T       - I’m OK.

2. Reading

T       - Do you like traveling? And what do you know about traveling? Let’s read the quotations of famous people about traveling.

 

*1. There is no place to go, so we travel. You and I: and what for, just to imagine we could go somewhere else. (EdwardDahlberg)

      Когда все достопримечательности, находящиеся вблизи, осмотрены, тогда мы отправляемся в путешествие.

3. Listening

T       - Would you like to travel right now?

P       - Yes, of course!

T       - What countries would you like to visit?

P       - I want to go to Egypt (Turkey, America).

T       - I want you to go to a faraway and wonderful country, Australia.

So let’s go to the travel agency and book tickets. Listen to a conversation between Mr. Douglas and a travel agent. (TB p. 84-85)

        

4. Speaking

T       - Oh, I see customs inspector is waiting for us.

C.I.   – Good morning, ladies and gentlemen! First of all, take these customs declaration and fill in necessary information about yourselves. If you don’t understand anything, ask me, please.

 

The Customs Inspector is speaking with one of the tourists.

 C. I.  – Good morning! Where are your from?

T       - Russia

C. I.  – Are you traveling alone?

T       - Yes, I am.

C. I.  – What is the purpose of your visit?

T       - I want to see Australia and learn Australian English.

C. I.  – Where are you going to stay?

P       - In Sydney.

C. I.  – Do you have anything to declare?

P       - No, I don’t. There are only personal belougings in my suit case.

C. I.  – Open your luggage, please.

P       - Here you are.

C. I.  – Have a good time in Australia.

P       - Thank you.

 

5. Acting out       

Listen to some announcements in the airport.

T       - All right. Our trip is beginning. Let’s choose the pilot and the stewardess.

St      - Hello. Attention, please. May I see your tickets, please?

Ps      - Her you are.

St      - Your seat is in the non-smoking section. Enjoy your flight!

 

Pilot  - Ladies and gentlemen, this is the pilot speaking. I would like to   

welcome you aboard. We are currently flying at an altitude of 11.000 meters. Our flight time today will be approximately       hours. We will arrive to Sydney at about 3 p. m. If there is anything we can do to make your trip with us more comfortable, please let us know. Otherwise, sit back and enjoy the flight. Thank you for flying our company.

 

St      - Ladies and gentlemen, may I have your attention, please? Fasten your seat belts and keep them fastened at all times.

Pass  - Excuse me, could you tell me what movie will be shown today?

St      - Yes. Today’s movie is “Australia: demography and politics.

 

6. Watching the video clip and listening the information

Video clip  Australia is a federation of 6 states and 2 mainland territories. It is biggest the United States of America without Alaska and is biggest Western Europe.

It has a cosmopolitan society. About 4 million people from more than 120 countries have settled here since World War II. The majority of the population is of Anglo-Irish background. While Australia p                    an independent foreign policy, it is strong support of the western alliance and of the United Nations and is a Committee to the International Law and to Disarmament.

                  Developing A-programms are aimed in promoting economic and social advancements in developing countries. Neighbouring countries are given priority.

                   Australia traditionally has had a humanitarian attitude to world’s refugees since World War II. About half a million refugees and displaced persons from all over the globe have been settled.

 

7. Asking the questions

T       - I have got some questions to the passengers.

         1. Is Australia a federation?

         2. What does it consist of?

         3. What can you say about its size?

         4. Why is Australia a cosmopolitan society?

         5. What is their background?  

         6. Who supports Australia?

7. What is aimed in promoting economic and social advancement in developing countries?

8. Who is given priority?

9. Has Australia had a humanitarian attitude to world’s refugees?

10. How many refugees and displaced persons have been settled there?

 

T       - I think you’ve learnt some new information from this film. And we also have got some travel brochures about the most interesting places in Australia.
